On a more serious note

So far, my blog has been full of ridiculous, retarded, need I go on, things. This blog though, is on a more serious spiritual note. I would like to discuss cusswords today. Cusswords, back in the old days, were seldom used and usually looked upon with disdain. In this day and age, especially in a high school or even a workplace it is used as common speech. In a high school, one might come up to you and say," Hey, how's it %$@#^& going &^%$#@!." This, I believe, shows that society has dropped dramatically in the use of our language. There are many other words to call someone when they make you mad, or just when you are trying to make conversation. Instead of cussing, call them names like poophead, or stupid face. Even though poophead is a crude word, it is infinitely better than calling someone a "girl dog". I believe that cussing shows how uneducated you are, because people who cuss just lack a better word or it could be integrated into their everyday vocabulary, which also shows that 1. They are choosing not so great friends. 2. Their environment could be tainted with cusswords.

Orson Scott Card, who is a fabulous mormon writer, uses cusswords in his book ENDER'S GAME, and probably many others. This, I believe, is inexcusable. Someone who has been taught the gospel standards and is an adult is using this kind of language. Sometimes I notice that he uses crude words instead of cusswords, but nevertheless, he is still using cusswords. I believe that people who cuss are trying to fit in with "the crowd", but I am appalled to see that people actually have to start filthening their language to just be with the "cool kids." This goes hand-in-hand with dirty jokes. You should not have make up dirty jokes to fit in.

What frustrates me the most is the people that cuss, that I become friends with, who I then try to help, but they say that quitting or trying to lessen their swearing would be too difficult or it would take too long. The one I hear the most is that they don't feel like it, so they won't do it. This shows to me that 1. They are very lazy. 2. They are afraid that if they stop swearing, they won't fit in anymore. If you feel like you have to keep swearing or making dirty jokes to keep your friends, then you know the wrong people, and need to find kids with higher standards.

We need to start putting an effort into stopping the rage of cusswords. Even though the Second Coming is probably near, we need to start if we are not doing this now. Even if we don't want to, we still need to.
